Spray towers

Spray towers in general are part of a huge variety of process engineering applications.
Here, for instance spray dryers within the food industry or exhaust gas aftertreatment can be mentioned.

CFD simulations are used to achieve the highest possible flow through rates and simultaneously
decrease deosition. Potential causes of depositions are identified and countermeasures are defined.

CFD simulation of spray dryers

The drying process within a spray dryer is a complex interaction of flow,
heat transfer and mass transfer.
Utilisation of CFD simulation enables to track the motion and residence time of the wet particles within the spray dryer.
The evaporation of the water and the resulting local cooling of the flow are also considered.
